Falak Music Society
Falak is the BSc Music Club at GIPE. The club has performed at various in-house events in the college, and is loaded with talent, from guitarists, pianists, violinists, to, of course, vocalists!
The story behind its name is quite interesting – ‘Falak’ is a word that means ‘the sky’ – and it represents the spirit of all the styles and languages of music that exist under the same sky, an analogy for the diversity which is represented in the club.

One Book A Month (OBAM)
The One Book A Month initiative was started by Ashish when the very first batch of B.Sc. was starting their second semester at Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics. It’s basic objective was to make the students read a new book selected by a featured guest every month, but now has become much bigger than what even Ashish imagined – now including voluntary book reviews and book discussions as well, and has turned into a great platform to learn much more than just what is taught in classrooms!

Discover Your Oeuvre (DYO)
Discover Your Oeuvre is GIPE’s very own art club! We aim at adding a fine-artistic touch to the science and art of Economics. This is what our logo signifies- the messy palette in the background shows the beautiful chaos of art and life and the geometric shapes bring order to this chaos. The word Oeuvre signifies the body of work of an artist and we, at DYO aim at discovering that fine artist present in every Economist!
We shall be taking up a lot of exciting activities like art workshops under the Banyan tree, discussing the works of famous artists and organizing talks on a variety of topics that lie at the intersection of Art and Economics!!
So, are you ready to Discover Your Oeuvre with us!!
