An insightful and knowledgeable 5-day workshop on R programming was conducted from 6 January 2020 to 10 January 2020 for the BSc students. Starting with the basics, on day 1 the focus was on getting students accustomed to R programming, its history, why is it important to use, installing and the interface. From day 2 the focus shifted towards the more technical aspects of it, its overview, the objects in R and data types, its interface and important terms related to the same. Day 3 was committed to the practical application, working with data, importing and exporting it to get hands-on experience and getting used to the interface. Day 4 was dedicated to data manipulation, knowledge about operators was shared, operations such as creating a new variable, built-in functions,control structures ,user-defined functions,sorting data, merging data, aggregating data, reshaping data and sub-setting data. Day 5 was about creating various types of graphs using the interface, some examples of the same are Pie Charts, Bar charts, Histograms, Boxplots, Boxplots Groupings, Scatterplots, Line Plots, Overlaying Graphs.
